The inspiration for creating The Adare Collection, a private designer label for the discerning lady, is the heritage town of Adare itself, set as it is in the heart of the lush Co. Limerick countryside.
Adare (Ath Dara in Irish), means: Ford of the Oak, and the town was so named in the 13th Century, because the river Maigue which flows closeby, was fordable at this point, and also from the abundance of imposing oak trees in the surrounding woods.
In its medieval past, the town hosted the Trinitarian order of monks, which today serves as the Roman Catholic church. Other fine and ancient buildings in Adare include the Augustinian Abbey, which today is the Church of Ireland, and the ivy-clad ruins of the Franciscan Abbey and Desmond Castle, ever-present reminders of our rich, historic past. |

This picturesque and historic setting, where the chanting of monks once echoed off ancient abbey walls, has been the inspiration for this classic and contemporary collection of beautiful designer garments.
